Job Description

A Factory Supervisor plays a crucial role in overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of a manufacturing plant or production facility. This position is responsible for ensuring that all production activities are carried out efficiently and align with company quality standards and production objectives. The Factory Supervisor provides leadership and guidance to production staff, ensuring a safe, productive, and motivated workforce. They work closely with other departments such as maintenance, quality control, and supply chain to ensure smooth operation. Their role is vital in maintaining the flow of operations and meeting production targets in a timely manner. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate effectively are essential to ensuring the success of this role.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily production processes to ensure efficiency and to meet production goals.
  • Coordinate workflow and production schedules to ensure timely completion of orders.
  • Implement and maintain health and safety standards to ensure a safe work environment.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to production staff, fostering a positive team spirit.
  • Monitor equipment and machinery, coordinating maintenance and repairs promptly.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance to address and resolve product quality issues.
  • Prepare reports on production output, deficiencies, and improvements to management.
  • Train new employees on their roles and responsibilities within the production process.
  • Manage inventory levels to prevent overstock or stockout situations in production supplies.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity and quality.
  • Resolve personnel issues, including conflict resolution and performance appraisals.
  • Ensure compliance with all organizational policies and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to coordinate production staff.
  • In-depth knowledge of production management and quality control methodologies.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail in all work activities.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities to address and resolve production challenges.
  • Proficient in using production management software and relevant technology tools.
