Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and cooking of dishes for service.
  • Ensure all food preparation areas are clean and hygienic at all times.
  • Maintain the highest standards of food quality and presentation.
  • Assist the Chef de Partie in ensuring line stations are ready for service.
  • Check the freshness of ingredients and report any issues to supervisors.
  • Follow recipes and presentation specifications as directed by senior chefs.
  • Help with stock control and inventory management to prevent wastage.
  • Contribute ideas for new menu items and presentations to chefs.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety regulations within the kitchen.
  • Take care of kitchen equipment and report any maintenance needs.
  • Assist in the training of new kitchen staff and apprentices when necessary.
  • Participate actively in daily kitchen briefings and meetings.

Requirements

  • Previous experience or culinary training in a professional kitchen preferred.
  • Basic understanding of food hygiene and health safety regulations.
  • Passion for cooking and willingness to learn from senior chefs.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
  • Ability to follow instructions and adhere to recipes and guidelines.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends and holidays.
