Responsibilities

• Operate the cash register and handle cash, credit, and debit transactions accurately.
• Greet customers warmly and assist with any questions or concerns in a friendly manner.
• Scan goods and ensure pricing is correct to avoid any discrepancies.
• Dependably issue receipts and change to customers after completing transactions.
• Count money in cash drawers at the beginning and end of shifts to ensure amounts are correct.
• Resolve customer complaints in a polite and professional manner.
• Pack customer purchases into bags and boxes efficiently when required.
• Keep the checkout area clean, tidy, and organized to present an attractive workspace.
• Process returns and exchanges according to store policy and procedures.
• Assist with stocking shelves and price tagging products in between serving customers.
• Follow all company policies and procedures for cash handling and security.
• Maintain a positive demeanor with the ability to handle stressful situations calmly.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, with some retail experience preferred.
• Basic math skills to manage transactions and perform cashier duties effectively.
• Proficient user of standard POS systems and cash registers.

• Strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members.
