Job Description

As a Dental Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for patients visiting our dental practice. Your welcoming and professional demeanor will ensure that patients feel comfortable and supported during their visit. You will manage the daily administration of our front office, facilitating smooth operations by handling appointments, billing, and patient inquiries. Your organizational skills and attention to detail will play a crucial role in maintaining patient records and scheduling. A successful Dental Receptionist is both patient-focused and tech-savvy, equipped to manage computer-based tasks with ease while maintaining excellent customer service standards. You will be an integral part of our team, providing essential support to both patients and staff to ensure a positive experience for everyone involved.


Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome all patients and visitors to the dental practice.
  • Answer telephones efficiently and manage both incoming and outgoing calls.
  • Coordinate and manage patient appointments using scheduling software.
  • Verify patient insurance details and handle necessary billing procedures.
  • Assist patients in completing necessary medical documentation accurately.
  • Maintain and update patient records meticulously and confidentially.
  • Collect payments from patients and accurately record transactions.
  • Communicate any patient needs or inquiries to the appropriate staff.
  • Ensure the reception area is clean, organized, and welcoming.
  • Help with organizational tasks such as filing, data entry, and office supply inventory.
  • Provide a brief explanation of dental procedures to patients when required.
  • Assist with other clerical duties and special projects as necessary.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education preferred.
  • Previous experience in a reception or customer service role is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology and procedures is preferred but not essential.
  • Proficiency in dental practice management software and other office equipment.
  • Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with patients and staff.
  • Strong organizational abilities to manage multiple tasks and patient records.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with high standards of confidentiality.
  • Friendly and compassionate attitude towards patient care and service.
