Job Description

The Collection Executive plays a critical role in the financial health of an organization by ensuring timely and efficient recovery of outstanding debts and payments. This position is responsible for managing a portfolio of accounts, leveraging a strong understanding of credit control processes, and employing effective communication and negotiation skills to resolve overdue accounts. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and possesses excellent problem-solving abilities to handle difficult situations professionally. They should have the capability to build strong relationships with clients while ensuring compliance with legal requirements and company policies. A Collection Executive must also be able to work collaboratively with various departments to improve collection processes and mitigate risks.


Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate records of all collection activities in the system.
  • Monitor overdue accounts and communicate promptly with clients for collections.
  • Negotiate payment plans and settlements to recover outstanding balance efficiently.
  • Collaborate with the credit control team to improve collection strategies.
  • Prepare and analyze reports on collection activities and account status.
  • Assess clients' creditworthiness to mitigate risks associated with lending.
  • Handle disputes and queries raised by clients regarding their accounts.
  • Ensure compliance with corporate policies and legal requirements in collections.
  • Coordinate with the legal team for accounts needing further action.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients to ensure payment commitments.
  • Identify trends in payment delays or defaults for reporting to management.
  • Contact clients through various channels including phone, email, and onsite visits if necessary.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or related field.
  • At least 2-3 years of experience in collections or credit management preferred.
  • Strong proficiency with MS Office Suite and relevant accounting software.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills to handle difficult clients.
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and prioritize work effectively.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve goals.
