Job Description

As a Purchase Executive, you will play a crucial role in managing the procurement processes and ensuring the organization’s supply chain is efficient and cost-effective. Your main responsibility is to oversee the procurement of goods and services, ensuring maximum quality and efficient delivery. This includes identifying potential suppliers, negotiating favourable terms, finalizing purchase details, and maintaining records. Additionally, you will collaborate with other departments to forecast demands and ensure that inventory levels are met without excess. Success in this role requires strong negotiation skills, a keen eye for detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively. Responsibilities

  • Identify reliable suppliers and maintain a comprehensive database of vendors.
  • Negotiate terms and prices with suppliers to secure advantageous purchase agreements.
  • Analyze market trends to acquire goods of the highest quality at lower costs.
  • Manage purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery and accurate receipt of goods.
  • Work closely with logistics to coordinate the movement of goods and track shipments.
  • Maintain and ensure proper documentation of procurement processes and contracts.
  • Analyze spending patterns to keep the procurement budget within predefined limits.
  • Liaise with different departments to forecast needs and make informed purchasing decisions.
  • Conduct supplier evaluations and performance reviews to ensure quality standards are met.
  • Resolve any discrepancies or issues related to purchase orders and vendor relations.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and regulatory changes that may affect purchasing strategies.
  • Provide regular reports and updates on purchasing activities and cost-saving initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or relevant field.
  • Proven experience as a Purchase Executive or in a similar procurement role.
  • Strong negotiation skills and an ability to build lasting relationships with vendors.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective vendor management.
  • Keen attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in purchasing software and Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word.
  • Ability to manage time effectively and handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of market research, data analysis, and purchasing strategies.
