  • Lead, mentor, and manage a team of retail buyers to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Assess and manage the budget for purchasing and monitor expenditure against business goals.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and maintain strong relationships for efficient procurement processes.
  • Collaborate with merchandisers to ensure cohesive brand representation and product consistency.
  • Oversee stock management, including the reduction of excess inventory and stock shortages.
  • Conduct market research to identify emerging opportunities and assess competition strategies.
  • Prepare detailed reports on buying metrics and present findings to senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal and ethical standards in all purchasing activities.
  • Implement systems to streamline processes and improve buying team's operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Retail Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in retail buying or related purchasing roles.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience in data-driven decision making.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a proven track record of successful supplier deals.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team towards achieving strategic goals.
