Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Indian Cook to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for traditional Indian cuisine and a deep understanding of Indian culinary techniques, flavors, and spices. This position requires a dynamic individual who can prepare a diverse range of authentic Indian dishes, including regional specialties from across India. You will be responsible for maintaining high standards of food quality, hygiene, and presentation, while also ensuring a memorable dining experience for our customers. Responsibilities

  • Prepare a wide variety of Indian dishes, ensuring consistency and authenticity in flavors.
  • Collaborate with the head chef to plan and develop new menu items reflective of regional Indian cuisines.
  • Maintain high standards of hygiene and cleanliness in the kitchen at all times.
  • Ensure all ingredients are fresh, and stored correctly, following food safety guidelines.
  • Train and supervise junior kitchen staff, providing guidance on Indian cooking techniques.
  • Monitor inventory levels of spices, vegetables, and other essential ingredients necessary for Indian dishes.
  • Organize and manage the kitchen operations during service, ensuring timely preparation and delivery of orders.
  • Adjust recipes as needed to meet the dietary requirements or preferences of customers.
  • Inspect and ensure proper maintenance of kitchen equipment and report any issues promptly.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with kitchen and service staff.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends, particularly innovations in Indian cuisine.
  • Create a warm and inviting atmosphere that enhances the customer dining experience.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Indian Cook in a restaurant or culinary setting.
  • Deep understanding of Indian spices, ingredients, and traditional cooking techniques.
  • Ability to prepare diverse Indian dishes from multiple regions of India.
  • Certification in culinary arts, hospitality, or related field is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking capabilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent knowledge of food hygiene and health safety practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with kitchen staff.
