Job Description

The position of Store Assistant is crucial for the smooth operation of retail and wholesale establishments. As a Store Assistant, you will support the store's daily activities, ensure excellent customer service, and maintain the sales environment.   • Operate the cash register efficiently and accurately handle cash and card transactions.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet store sales and service goals.
  • Receive, unpack, and store merchandise deliveries, ensuring product quality and accuracy.
  • Prepare and set up promotional displays and signage to support marketing efforts.
  • Assist in inventory audits to maintain accurate stock records and avoid shortages.
  • Resolve customer complaints or refer them to management as necessary for resolution.
  • Follow all company policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Participate in staff meetings and training sessions to enhance service skills and product knowledge.
  • Implement store security measures to prevent theft and ensure loss prevention.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is required for this position.
  • Previous experience in retail or customer service is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Strong communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting.
  • Basic math skills for handling cash and processing transactions accurately.
  • Proficiency in using point-of-sale systems and other retail software applications.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
