Job Description

The Housekeeping Supervisor is a critical role in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of a facility. This position is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the housekeeping staff, ensuring that all cleaning and maintenance tasks are carried out efficiently and to the highest standards. Responsibilities

  • Supervise daily operations of housekeeping staff to ensure timely completion of tasks.
  • Conduct regular inspections of assigned areas to ensure satisfactory cleanliness and maintenance.
  • Train, mentor, and develop housekeeping staff to maintain high performance standards.
  • Prepare and manage housekeeping schedules to optimize staff productivity and efficiency.
  • Handle guest complaints related to housekeeping services promptly and professionally.
  • Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, placing orders when necessary.
  • Implement safety and hygiene standards to ensure a safe working environment for staff.
  • Coordinate with other departments to support overall property management and operations.
  • Develop and use checklists for housekeeping tasks to maintain consistency in service delivery.
  • Monitor housekeeping budgets and ensure spending is within approved limits.
  • Assist in the recruitment process by interviewing candidates and making hiring recommendations.
  • Provide feedback and conduct performance evaluations for housekeeping staff regularly.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; further education is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in a housekeeping supervisory role.
  • Proven ability to lead and motivate a diverse team effectively.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential.
  • Ability to handle conflicts and resolve issues in a professional manner.
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, supplies, and Health & Safety standards.
