Responsibilities
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that adhere to the curriculum standards in mathematics for secondary school students.
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and critical thinking.
- Assess student progress through a variety of methods, such as tests, quizzes, and projects, and provide constructive feedback.
- Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students in the classroom.
- Provide extra help and support to students who are struggling with mathematical concepts.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and academic concerns.
- Stay up-to-date with educational best practices and innovative teaching strategies in the field of mathematics.
- Collaborate with other teachers and staff to develop interdisciplinary lessons and projects.
- Organize and supervise extracurricular activities related to mathematics, such as math clubs or competitions.
- Participate in professional development opportunities to continuously improve teaching skills and knowledge in mathematics education.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics or a related field.
- Teaching certification or licensure.
- Experience teaching mathematics at the secondary level preferred.
- Strong knowledge of secondary level mathematics curriculum and instructional methods.
- Effective communication and classroom management skills.
