Job Description

A Logistics Coordinator plays a crucial role in managing the flow of goods within a supply chain, ensuring that products are transported efficiently from the point of origin to the final destination. Coordinators are responsible for planning, implementing, and overseeing the logistics operations, working closely with suppliers, manufacturers, and distributors to ensure timely deliveries and optimal inventory levels. They must identify and resolve logistical issues, track shipments, and negotiate transportation rates, ensuring cost-effective and efficient movement of goods. With an emphasis on maintaining strong relationships with partners and a sharp eye on detail, the Logistics Coordinator ensures the smooth and efficient operation of supply chain activities.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and monitor supply chain operations to ensure effective management of logistics.
  • Liaise with suppliers and customers to ensure timely and safe delivery of goods.
  • Develop and analyze logistical plans to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
  • Maintain accurate records of logistics schedules, transportation costs, and warehouse inventories.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the transportation process.
  • Track goods throughout the shipment process to ensure timely and proper delivery.
  • Negotiate transportation rates with carriers to secure cost-effective shipping options.
  • Organize orders and oversee the condition and quality of goods received or shipped.
  • Work closely with the finance department to track budget and cost reports.
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and policies regarding transportation and shipment of goods.
  • Communicate daily with logistics partners to maintain solid working relationships and resolve issues.
  • Utilize logistics IT systems to optimize operations and enhance service reliability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related field required.
  • Proven experience in a logistics coordinator or similar role is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of logistics management and supply chain processes.
  • Excellent organizational and coordination abilities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving skills, and attention to detail are essential.
  • Proficiency with logistics software and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Exceptional communication skills with an ability to interact effectively at all levels.
