Job Description

The General Accountant position is a key role within the financial department, responsible for maintaining and ensuring accurate and timely financial records. As a General Accountant, your primary duty is to handle various accounting tasks crucial for the financial wellbeing of the company. These tasks include preparing journal entries, maintaining balance sheet schedules, reconciling bank accounts, and reviewing financial statements. You will collaborate closely with the finance team to coordinate the monthly closing process. Additionally, you will analyze financial information and provide recommendations to achieve financial accountability. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently. If you have a strong understanding of accounting principles and a passion for numbers, you may be the ideal candidate for this position.


Responsibilities

  • Prepare and monitor the accuracy of journal entries and ledger accounts.
  • Maintain and update balance sheet schedules and reconcile discrepancies regularly.
  • Perform bank reconciliations to ensure correct financial statement postings.
  • Coordinate and assist in the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
  • Analyze financial information to recommend or develop efficient use of resources.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial compliance and accuracy.
  • Review and consolidate financial statements in adherence to accounting standards.
  • Assist in preparing budgets and financial forecasts for management review.
  • Implement and comply with financial policies and procedures effectively.
  • Monitor and maintain compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  • Participate in auditing activities and provide necessary financial data and documents.
  • Conduct variance analysis and elaborate detailed financial management reports.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required.
  • Proven experience in accounting or a similar role for at least 3 years.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify financial inconsistencies.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present financial data and concepts.
