A Radiographer plays a crucial role in the healthcare sector, functioning in a dynamic and vital position to help diagnose and treat medical conditions using a variety of imaging techniques. As a Radiographer, you will be responsible for operating imaging equipment such as X-rays, CT scanners, and MRI machines to create images of patients’ internal organs and structures. Responsibilities

  • Follow safety protocols to protect patients from unnecessary radiation exposure during imaging.
  • Produce high-quality images by adjusting the machine settings according to the diagnostic requirements.
  • Interpret and assess scan results for quality assurance before submitting them for physician evaluation.
  • Provide patients with clear explanations of imaging procedures to minimize anxiety or discomfort.
  • Maintain detailed patient records, including imaging histories and any relevant notes or observations.
  • Collaborate with physicians and medical staff to execute and adapt patient care plans as needed.
  • Ensure strict compliance with health and safety standards in the radiology department.
  • Partake in continuous professional development to keep abreast of technological advancements in radiography.
  • Assist in administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing patient queues effectively.
  • Perform routine maintenance checks on all imaging equipment and report any malfunctions promptly.

Requirements

  • Associate or Bachelor's degree in Radiologic Technology or a related field.
  • Valid license as a Radiologic Technologist required.
  • Proven experience in operating various radiographic imaging equipment effectively.
  • Strong understanding of radiation safety regulations and procedures in medical settings.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with patients and staff.
  • Attention to detail and a high standard of accuracy in executing imaging procedures.
  • Capability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and composure.
