Job Description

An Accounts Assistant is an integral part of the finance team, responsible for supporting the administration of financial operations within an organization. This role involves managing daily accounting tasks to ensure that the financial records are accurate and up-to-date. The Accounts Assistant assists with the preparation of financial reports, processing invoices, and handling communications with suppliers and clients. They play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of the finance department by maintaining proper documentation and adhering to company policies and regulations. An ideal candidate should possess strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.


Responsibilities

  • Process, code, and input invoices into the accounting system accurately.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports and budgets as required.
  • Reconcile bank statements and record discrepancies to maintain accuracy.
  • Maintain accounts payable and accounts receivable records efficiently.
  • Communicate with suppliers and clients to resolve billing inquiries promptly.
  • Support the finance team in conducting audits and financial reviews.
  • Ensure timely processing of expense reports and reimbursements.
  • Prepare, analyze, and report on accounts balancing and settlements.
  • Assist in the development and maintenance of financial filing systems.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and company policies.
  • Manage petty cash transactions and record expenses accurately.
  • Monitor cash flow, expenditures, and generate financial summaries daily.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • Proven experience as an Accounts Assistant or in a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, or SAP.
  • Strong numerical skills with high attention to accuracy and detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills required.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.
  • Good communication skills to liaise with team members and clients.
  • Understanding of basic accounting principles and financial regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team.
