Job Description

The Structural Engineer is responsible for the design, analysis, and evaluation of structural systems and components to ensure their safety, stability, and compliance with engineering standards and codes. They collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to contribute to the successful completion of construction projects.


Responsibilities:


  • Perform structural analysis and calculations to design safe and efficient structures.
  • Create detailed structural plans, drawings, and specifications.
  • Ensure that all structural designs and plans comply with relevant building codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Stay updated on changes in building codes and industry best practices.
  • Select appropriate construction materials and components for structural projects.
  • Consider factors such as cost, strength, and durability.
  • Oversee the construction process to ensure that the structural elements are built according to design specifications.
  • Conduct site inspections and assessments.
  • Collaborate with architects, contractors, and other engineering disciplines to integrate structural designs into overall building plans.
  • Address design challenges and modifications as needed.
  • Identify potential structural risks and propose mitigation strategies.
  • Analyze and assess the structural integrity of existing buildings and infrastructure.
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources effectively.
  • Communicate progress and project updates to stakeholders.
  • Maintain accurate and organized project documentation, including design calculations, reports, and correspondence.
  • Prioritize safety in structural design and construction processes.
  • Develop safety protocols for construction sites.

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field. Master's degree is advantageous.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent certification is preferred.
  • Proven experience as a Structural Engineer, preferably in the UAE or a similar region.
  • Strong understanding of structural engineering principles, codes, and regulations.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software and computer-aided design (CAD) tools.
  • Experience in designing various types of structures, such as buildings, bridges, or industrial facilities.
  • Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Project management skills for coordinating design and construction efforts.
  • Familiarity with sustainable design and building practices is a plus.
  • Fluency in English; knowledge of additional languages such as Arabic is beneficial.
