Job Description

A Supply Chain Planner plays a critical role in the efficient management and coordination of a company’s supply chain activities to ensure that inventory levels are optimally maintained to meet customer demands. This position involves analyzing logistical data to forecast demands accurately, managing relationships with suppliers, and working cross-functionally across various departments to enhance the overall supply chain strategy. The planner is primarily responsible for identifying and rectifying potential problems in the supply chain process, leading to improved efficiencies and cost reductions. This role requires a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make data-driven decisions. The Supply Chain Planner must stay abreast of market trends and continuously seek opportunities to improve supply chain operations. They are expected to be proactive problem solvers with an aptitude for process optimization and innovation.


Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials and goods.
  • Analyze historical sales data to identify demand patterns and trends.
  • Develop inventory plans that align with production schedules and demand forecasts.
  • Coordinate with production and logistics teams to optimize supply chain processes.
  • Monitor inventory levels regularly to prevent stockouts or overstock situations.
  • Utilize advanced planning tools and ERP systems to manage supply chain activities.
  • Create and maintain accurate records of all supply chain processes and flows.
  • Negotiate contracts and terms with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Manage and resolve issues related to supply chain disruptions promptly.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance supply chain efficiencies.
  • Work closely with the finance team to ensure supply chain spending stays within budget.
  • Prepare detailed reports and presentations on supply chain performance metrics.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or related field.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in supply chain planning.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and supply chain management software.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data.
  • Exceptional communication skills to foster effective cross-department collaborations.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines efficiently.
  • Knowledge of industry best practices and emerging supply chain trends.
