Role Overview

The Structural Inspector (Buildings) will be responsible for monitoring, supervising, and inspecting structural construction works on building projects. The role ensures that structural works—ranging from foundations to superstructures—are executed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, codes, and project requirements. The Structural Inspector will provide on-site oversight, identify non-conformances, and ensure the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Inspect and supervise structural works including foundations, columns, slabs, beams, retaining walls, and structural steel.
  • Verify compliance of construction with design drawings, specifications, and international/local building codes.
  • Monitor and approve inspection requests (IRs), method statements, and material submittals related to structural works.
  • Conduct site inspections for concrete works, reinforcement, formwork, post-tensioning, structural steel erection, and finishing structural elements.
  • Review and verify contractor’s as-built drawings and shop drawings for accuracy.
  • Record non-conformances, recommend corrective actions, and ensure follow-up until closure.
  • Prepare daily site inspection reports, progress logs, and quality documentation.
  • Coordinate with project engineers, contractors, and client representatives to resolve technical/site issues.
  • Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards on-site.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Diploma in Civil/Structural Engineering or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7–10 years of relevant experience in structural inspection of building projects (high-rise, commercial, residential, or mixed-use developments).
  • Strong knowledge of structural construction methods, materials, and standards (ACI, AISC, BS, ASTM, or equivalent).
  • Familiarity with UAE building codes and Dubai Municipality requirements.
  • Experience working with international consulting or engineering firms is preferred.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills in English (Arabic is an advantage).
  • Proficiency in MS Office and site inspection tools/software.
