Job Description

A Site Logistic Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth and efficient execution of logistics operations on-site, crucial for the successful completion of projects. The individual in this role is responsible for coordinating various logistics aspects, from material handling to transportation, making sure that all logistical requirements are met in a timely and efficient manner. The position demands strategic planning to manage supply chain activities effectively, reducing bottlenecks and ensuring material and resource availability at project sites. Leadership and communication skills are essential, as the Site Logistic Manager must harmoniously work with contractors, vendors, and personnel across departments to achieve project objectives. This role is instrumental in maintaining the balance between cost efficiency and effective project delivery, thereby contributing significantly to the company's operational success and client satisfaction. The manager is expected to optimize logistics procedures, solve problems that may arise during the logistics processes, and maintain close collaboration with project managers to forecast any potential logistical issues.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate all logistics activities and ensure timely delivery onsite materials and tools.
  • Develop and implement logistics processes to optimize supply chain activities.
  • Monitor daily logistics operations to eliminate bottlenecks and improve efficiency.
  • Collaborate with project managers to ensure accurate scheduling of logistical activities.
  • Negotiate and work with vendors for the best rates and service quality.
  • Develop contingency plans to handle potential logistical challenges onsite.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulatory requirements in all logistic operations.
  • Conduct regular audits to assess logistics performance and implement improvements.
  • Oversee loading and unloading operations to safeguard materials against damage.
  • Prepare and present concise logistics reports for management review regularly.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop the logistics team for improved performance.
  • Expense and budget management for logistics, ensuring cost-effective solutions.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in logistics or supply chain management.
  • Proven experience in managing onsite logistics in a construction environment.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and direct teams effectively.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with vendors and suppliers for favorable terms.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of industry safety standards and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in logistics software and tools to optimize processes and communication.
