Job Description

As a Logistics Supervisor, you will play a critical role in managing and overseeing the operations of a logistics department. You will be responsible for ensuring the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods and services throughout the supply chain. This involves coordinating transportation, warehousing, and inventory management activities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards. Your keen attention to detail and strategic planning abilities will be key in optimizing processes and improving logistics strategies. You will also be tasked with leading and mentoring a team, fostering a culture of teamwork and continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication capabilities, and a robust understanding of logistics and supply chain management principles.


Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate logistics activities to support business objectives and targets.
  • Oversee inventory management processes to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage and direct transport operations, optimizing routes and schedules.
  • Monitor supply chain operations to ensure compliance with industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with vendors and suppliers to negotiate contracts and service agreements.
  • Implement strategies to reduce logistics costs and improve operational efficiencies.
  • Develop and maintain performance metrics to track productivity and targets.
  • Lead and mentor logistics team members to facilitate skill development.
  • Coordinate with other departments to synchronize inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Resolve transportation and logistics issues promptly to ensure smooth operations.
  • Prepare reports and deliver presentations on logistics performance to stakeholders.
  • Ensure the maintenance of logistics equipment and adherence to safety standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in logistics or supply chain operations.
  • Strong understanding of logistics software and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent leadership skills with experience supervising a diverse team.
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills in logistics and operations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple logistics projects simultaneously and efficiently.
