Job Description

A Registered Nurse (RN) plays a crucial role in the healthcare system by providing essential medical care, emotional support, and health education to patients and families. RNs work in various settings such as hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and community health centers, utilizing their clinical skills to ensure patient recovery and well-being. They are responsible for assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining medical records. RNs collaborate with a healthcare team to deliver patient-centered care, demonstrating empathy and professionalism. They must stay updated with the latest in medical technology and healthcare practices to effectively treat and manage a broad range of health issues.


Responsibilities

  • Assess and monitor patients' health conditions, taking vital signs and charting observations.
  • Administer medications and treatments to patients in accordance with prescribed medical orders.
  • Develop and implement individualized nursing care plans for patients under their responsibility.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to create comprehensive care plans.
  • Educate patients and families on health maintenance, disease prevention, and management strategies.
  • Support patients by providing emotional and psychological support during recovery or treatment.
  • Ensure the safety and cleanliness of the immediate care environment to prevent infection.
  • Operate and maintain medical equipment required for patient care and diagnostics procedures.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation according to healthcare policies.
  • Participate in professional development and continuous education to stay current with medical practices.
  • Respond quickly to emergencies and provide life-saving interventions as necessary.
  • Manage and supervise junior nursing staff and support staff to ensure high-quality care delivery.

Requirements

  • Possess a valid nursing license in the state of practice .
  • Hold an Associate or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of two years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for effective communication with patients and healthcare teams.
  • Proficient in using electronic health records and other healthcare technology systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize tasks effectively under pressure.
  • CPR and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications are desirable for emergency situations.
