Responsibilities

  • Prepare authentic South Indian dishes while ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
  • Oversee the kitchen operations and maintain a high standard of food quality.
  • Ensure ingredients and final products are fresh, high-quality, and meet health standards.
  • Create new South Indian recipes that cater to the preferences of a diverse clientele.
  • Manage inventory, including ordering necessary supplies and minimizing kitchen waste.
  • Collaborate with the kitchen staff and assist in their training and development.
  • Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, adhering to food safety regulations.
  • Work closely with the Head Chef to develop menus showcasing South Indian cuisine.
  • Monitor and manage food costs while maintaining optimal quality and flavor.
  • Provide input in designing promotional food events featuring South Indian dishes.
  • Adjust cooking methods based on customer feedback and specific dietary needs.
  • Ensure all dishes leave the kitchen meeting both time and quality standards.

Requirements

  • Proven experience working as a South Indian Cook in a professional kitchen.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of various South Indian cooking techniques and spices.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-pressure culinary environment.
  • Excellent culinary skills with a passion for South Indian gastronomy.
  • Strong understanding of inventory management and kitchen cost control.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and team-management skills.
  • A culinary degree or equivalent is preferred but not mandatory.
