Job Description

The role of a Procurement Officer is crucial to the efficiency and financial health of a company. As a Procurement Officer, you will be responsible for managing all purchasing activities, developing relationships with suppliers, and ensuring that the company's procurement needs are met with the highest quality and cost-effectiveness. You will coordinate with various departments to ascertain their needs and align procurement strategies to support business objectives. Your role also involves negotiating contracts, monitoring supply markets, and maintaining records of all transactions. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business goals and objectives.
  • Identify and select vendors that provide the best quality and cost-efficiency.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts with suppliers to ensure favorable terms.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement needs and timelines.
  • Monitor market trends and identify potential opportunities to improve procurement processes.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulatory requirements in procurement activities.
  • Analyze and report on procurement metrics to inform decision-making and strategic planning.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
  • Manage purchase requisitions and process purchase orders in a timely manner.
  • Resolve issues with suppliers regarding delivery, price discrepancies, or quality concerns.
  • Conduct regular audits and reviews of the procurement processes to continuously improve efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and other relevant data for reference.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as a Procurement Officer or in a similar role for at least 2 years.
  • Strong negotiation skills with the ability to secure favorable terms with suppliers.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Analytical mindset with the ability to analyze data and make informed decisions.
  • Solid understanding of supply chain management and procurement processes.
  • Familiarity with ERP systems and proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
