Job Description

The Patient Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for patients in healthcare facilities. As the first point of contact, the Patient Coordinator is responsible for greeting patients, managing their appointments, and serving as a liaison between the patients and the healthcare professionals in the facility. This role demands excellent communication skills, organization, and empathy to handle various patient-related administrative tasks effectively. The Patient Coordinator ensures that patient information is accurately recorded and maintained, aiding in the smooth operation of healthcare services. By providing excellent patient service and support, the Patient Coordinator significantly contributes to enhancing patient satisfaction and operational efficiency within the healthcare environment.


Responsibilities

  • Greet and welcome patients as they enter the healthcare facility with a friendly demeanor.
  • Schedule and manage patient appointments, ensuring optimal utilization of healthcare resources.
  • Serve as a liaison between patients and healthcare professionals to facilitate clear communication.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including personal and medical information.
  • Handle patient inquiries and assist with resolving any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Verify patient insurance details and assist with processing necessary documentation.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers to ensure timely and efficient patient care delivery.
  • Provide patients with information regarding healthcare services, procedures, and policies.
  • Assist in the management and organization of patient files and medical records.
  • Ensure all regulatory and compliance standards are adhered to during patient interactions.
  • Participate in ongoing training to stay updated with the latest healthcare administration practices.
  • Handle patient feedback and work towards enhancing the overall patient experience.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; further education in healthcare is preferred.
  • Proven experience in a healthcare administrative role or similar position.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail and time management.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective patient interactions.
  • Proficiency in using healthcare management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality and professionalism.
  • Empathetic and patient-focused approach to providing exceptional customer service.
