Network Engineer (225-731)

A Network Engineer plays a crucial role in designing, implementing, and maintaining the computer networks that support in-house voice, data, video, and wireless network services. They ensure that networks run smoothly, efficiently, and securely. Network Engineers must be highly skilled in managing network infrastructure, including hardware, software, cabling systems, and network management tools. This position requires strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills to diagnose and resolve network issues effectively. Network Engineers collaborate closely with IT support teams and other technical departments to optimize the company's network performance and ensure seamless and reliable communication across all network resources.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement reliable and secure network solutions that meet company requirements.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot any network-related problems efficiently.
• Collaborate with IT specialists to ensure optimal network performance and management.
• Configure and install various network devices and services, such as routers and switches.
• Perform regular security checks on the network to protect it against cyber threats.
• Develop, implement, and update network policies based on the organization’s needs.
• Maintain documentation of network configurations, processes, and service records accurately.
• Proactively research new networking technologies and suggest improvements.
• Coordinate with vendors for third-party network-related solutions and services.
• Train and support staff by creating awareness on network security and efficiency.
• Participate in network design planning meetings to enhance infrastructure capabilities.
• Implement system upgrades without disrupting network service operations or availability.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience in implementing and monitoring network infrastructure systems.
• Strong knowledge of network security protocols, systems, and appliances.
• Proficient understanding of protocols like TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and BGP.
• Network certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or similar are highly desirable.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Strong communication skills to interact effectively with technical teams.
