Job Description

A Leasing Agent plays a critical role in the real estate industry, acting as the liaison between property owners and tenants. They are responsible for renting out properties, advising on rental rates, setting terms, and coordinating rental agreements. Leasing Agents must possess excellent customer service skills as they engage with a diverse clientele, helping them find properties that meet their needs and budget. Their job often involves showing properties, answering inquiries, processing applications, and maintaining relationships with existing tenants and property managers. Successful Leasing Agents must be knowledgeable about local real estate markets and competent in using various technologies to market properties and handle applications efficiently.


Responsibilities

  • Actively market available properties to prospective tenants using various platforms.
  • Conduct property tours and provide detailed information to prospective tenants.
  • Evaluate prospective tenants' applications to ascertain their eligibility and suitability.
  • Coordinate lease terms and manage lease agreements with tenants effectively.
  • Keep abreast of current local real estate market trends and rental rates.
  • Maintain a positive and professional relationship with property owners and tenants.
  • Answer inquiries regarding property availability, terms of lease, and amenities offered.
  • Prepare and process necessary reports and documents related to rentals.
  • Work collaboratively with property managers to ensure smooth property operations.
  • Respond to tenant maintenance requests and coordinate required services efficiently.
  • Participate in tenant retention efforts to maintain low tenant turnover rates.
  • Ensure compliance with housing regulations and property management policies.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred.
  • Proven work experience as a Leasing Agent or in a similar role.
  • Strong understanding of rental regulations, land, and property laws.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficiency in property management software and Microsoft Office tools.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability and willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends.
