They manage a diversified portfolio spanning retail operations, self-storage, office spaces, fitness and wellness concepts, fast casual dining, and multifamily projects. The team pairs capital with operational expertise to support entrepreneurs while creating lasting community-focused assets.

Why does this role exist?
This role exists to lead full-cycle accounting across multiple entities, ensuring accurate, timely, and compliant financials as the company scales its diversified portfolio. The Lead Bookkeeper will standardize processes, drive month-end close discipline, and produce reliable reporting that informs decision-making and cash flow management. They will also supervise a team of bookkeepers, strengthen controls, and support audits, tax, and year-end requirements.

The Impact you’ll make

Full-Cycle Accounting and GL Control
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts across multiple entities
  • Manage journal entries, accruals, and adjustments
  • Perform timely bank reconciliations and oversee cash flow management
  • Execute a disciplined month/quarter/year-end close
AP/AR Oversight
  • Oversee end-to-end accounts payable and accounts receivable
  • Monitor aging, drive collections and payment runs, and resolve discrepancies
  • Enhance vendor and customer management processes for accuracy and timeliness
Payroll and Compliance
  • Process four payrolls in compliance with tax regulations and company policies
  • Coordinate payroll-related filings and ensure on-time, error-free execution
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of employee and company information
Financial Reporting, Budgeting, and Forecasting
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Monitor budget performance, analyze variances, and assist with forecasting
  • Support cash flow projections and management dashboards
Leadership, Audit, and Year-End Support
  • Supervise and mentor a team of three bookkeepers; allocate workload and review output
  • Liaise with auditors, accountants, and regulatory authorities
  • Assist with tax packets and preparation of year-end financial statements
  • Identify process improvements and implement best practices

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

Required:
  • 3–5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience
  • Proficiency in QuickBooks (Online or Desktop), including multi-entity workflows
  • Demonstrated supervisory or team lead experience
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance preferred
  • WFH Set-Up:
    • Computer with at least 8GB RAM, an Intel i5 core processor/AMD Ryzen 5 Processor and up.
    • Internet speed of at least 40MBPS
    • Headset with an extended mic that has noise cancellation and a webcam
    • Back-up computer and internet connection
    • Quiet, dedicated workspace at home
Your Superpowers:
  • Technical: QuickBooks mastery; strong understanding of GAAP; AP/AR, payroll, and bank reconciliation expertise; advanced Excel/Google Sheets
  • Operational: Multi-entity accounting, month-end close, cash flow management, and report preparation
  • Leadership: Team supervision, workload prioritization, and quality review
  • Personal: High accuracy, timeliness, consistency, and unwavering confidentiality; resourceful, proactive, and detail-oriented communicator

  • 40 hours per week
Compensation:
  • $10 per hour
