Job Description

The Inventory Control Specialist plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of inventory management systems within a company. This position requires a detail-oriented and analytical professional adept at managing inventory levels and maintaining accurate records. The Inventory Control Specialist works closely with various departments, including procurement, logistics, and sales, to ensure that inventory processes align with organizational goals. Responsibilities include monitoring inventory levels, analyzing trends, and implementing improvements to enhance efficiency. The role demands keen attention to detail, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. The successful candidate will possess a strong understanding of inventory management software and practices, ensuring optimal stock levels and minimizing discrepancies and errors in the inventory process.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure optimal stock availability.
  • Analyze inventory data to identify trends and forecast future needs.
  • Collaborate with procurement to maintain accurate records of stock receipts.
  • Conduct regular audits to identify discrepancies and implement corrective measures.
  • Coordinate with warehouses to ensure efficient inventory movements and storage.
  • Develop and implement inventory control procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Prepare and present inventory reports to management with actionable insights.
  • Ensure accuracy of inventory data by validating it against physical counts.
  • Analyze and resolve issues related to inventory discrepancies promptly.
  • Influence cost-saving strategies by optimizing inventory turnover rates.
  • Maintain and document standard operating procedures for inventory management.
  • Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards in inventory processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, logistics, or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in inventory control or related field.
  • Strong proficiency in inventory management software and data analysis tools.
  • Excellent organizational skills and keen attention to detail are essential.
  • Effective communication skills for liaising with various departments confidently.
  • Ability to multitask and manage competing priorities under pressure.
  • Possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify improvement areas.
