Job Description

A Hydraulic Technician is an essential professional in the field of engineering and machinery, tasked with installing, maintaining, and repairing hydraulic equipment and systems. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and a keen eye for detail to ensure that all hydraulic systems are operating efficiently and safely. Hydraulic Technicians work in various industries, including manufacturing, construction, aviation, and automotive, which rely heavily on hydraulic machinery and systems for their operations. The technician is also responsible for diagnosing system faults and employing the appropriate techniques to fix any hydraulic issues. Responsibilities

  • Install new hydraulic systems and equipment according to technical specifications.
  • Conduct regular maintenance checks on existing hydraulic machinery and systems.
  • Diagnose faults and issues within hydraulic systems using specialized tools.
  • Repair or replace damaged components of hydraulic systems to ensure functionality.
  • Maintain a log of maintenance and repair activities performed on hydraulics.
  • Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to improve system performance.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while handling hydraulic equipment.
  • Read and interpret technical diagrams and schematics related to hydraulic systems.
  • Provide training and support to junior technicians and apprentices in hydraulic processes.
  • Use diagnostic equipment to accurately assess hydraulic system operations.
  • Order and manage inventory of parts and supplies needed for hydraulic repair work.
  • Test system performance following repairs to ensure optimal operation and safety.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Hydraulic Technician or similar technical role.
  • Solid understanding of hydraulic systems and mechanical principles.
  • Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and repair equipment for hydraulics.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in complex hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret hydraulic system blueprints and schematics.
  • Completion of a technical diploma or certification in hydraulics or engineering.
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to maintaining safety standards.
