Job Description

The Financial Controller is a crucial position within our organization's finance department, responsible for ensuring the integrity and accuracy of our financial operations. This role involves managing financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and compliance with regulatory requirements. The Financial Controller will play a key role in supporting strategic decision-making by providing insights into financial performance and helping to align financial management with corporate goals. In addition, this position will oversee the preparation of financial statements, coordinate audits, and implement effective internal controls to safeguard assets and ensure business continuity. As a leader in the finance team, the Financial Controller will work closely with various departments to assess financial risks and opportunities, driving efficiency and profitability within the organization.


Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and tax laws.
  • Develop and maintain robust financial policies and internal control procedures.
  • Coordinate and lead the budgeting and forecasting processes across the organization.
  • Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and areas for improvement.
  • Review financial reports to provide management with insights and actionable recommendations.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to facilitate annual audits and ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Monitor cash flow management and oversee treasury-related functions to optimize liquidity.
  • Lead and manage the finance team, providing guidance, training, and professional development.
  • Support strategic planning by providing financial models and risk assessments.
  • Evaluate and implement financial systems and software to enhance efficiency and reporting capabilities.
  • Liaise with other departments to promote a culture of financial awareness and accountability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline is required.
  • Professional certification such as CPA or CFA is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in a similar financial leadership role.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial regulations, and tax laws.
  • Proficient in financial software, ERP systems, and advanced Excel skills.
  • Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a finance team towards achieving objectives.
  • Experience in strategic planning and risk management within a financial context.
