Job Description

The Stewarding Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the back-of-house operations, particularly in the food and beverage sector, function smoothly and efficiently. This position requires a detail-oriented individual who can manage and oversee the stewarding team, ensuring the kitchen and dining areas are kept clean and hygienic. The Stewarding Supervisor is also responsible for coordinating with other departments to maintain seamless operations during service. This entails a strong understanding of food safety regulations, excellent organizational skills, and the capability to lead and motivate a team. By maintaining high standards of cleanliness and sanitation, the Stewarding Supervisor supports the kitchen staff and helps ensure a pleasant dining experience for guests.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the stewarding team to ensure high cleanliness standards.
  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely and efficient service delivery.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations at all times.
  • Train and mentor stewarding staff to improve performance and efficiency.
  • Manage inventory and ordering of cleaning supplies and equipment as needed.
  • Conduct regular inspections of kitchen and dining areas for cleanliness and order.
  • Collaborate with chefs and managers to streamline back-of-house processes.
  • Schedule stewarding shifts and manage time-off requests effectively.
  • Address and resolve any issues or conflicts within the team promptly.
  • Participate in department meetings to align on goals and performance expectations.
  • Maintain accurate records of cleaning schedules and inventory logs.
  • Ensure all stewarding equipment is maintained and in good working condition.

Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Stewarding Supervisor or similar leadership role is required.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations is essential.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for team management.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle stressful situations.
  • Proficiency in inventory management and ordering procedures.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.
