Job Description

The Senior Credit Manager plays a vital role in the financial stability and profitability of an organization. Tasked with overseeing the credit granting process, the Senior Credit Manager assesses the creditworthiness of potential clients and ensures that existing customer accounts are maintained according to company policies. This role involves managing the credit operations team and working closely with other departments such as sales and accounting to minimize credit risk. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in credit management, possess a keen analytical mind, and have strong decision-making skills. Knowledge of credit software and proficiency in data management and analysis are essential. The Senior Credit Manager will contribute strategically to the organization's financial goals by implementing effective credit policies and systems to optimize cash flow and mitigate risk.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the company's credit and risk management strategies.
  • Assess new and existing client credit applications while applying company standards.
  • Develop and implement policies to improve credit assessment processes.
  • Collaborate with sales and finance teams to ensure credit policies balance risk.
  • Prepare detailed risk assessment reports for senior management and stakeholders.
  • Monitor the financial performance of clients to identify potential credit risks.
  • Analyze market trends to refine company credit policies and credit ratings.
  • Review and approve credit limits in line with company guidelines and regulations.
  • Train and mentor junior credit officers to enhance their professional development.
  • Lead efforts to recover overdue accounts and restructure problematic loans.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Participate in regular reviews of the credit function to improve efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or business administration is required.
  • A minimum of 7 years' experience in credit management or similar roles.
  • Solid understanding of credit regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Proven leadership skills with a focus on team and stakeholder collaboration.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data.
  • Adept at using credit management software and financial modeling tools.
  • Strong communication skills to effectively present reports and recommendations.
