The Credit Manager is a crucial role within the financial sector, responsible for overseeing the credit granting process, including the consistent application of a credit policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers, and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers. This role is central to securing the financial stability of the organization by ensuring that credit risk is minimized while maximizing the company’s sales and profit potential. Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive credit policies and procedures.

• Coordinate with sales and finance departments to improve credit operations.

• Approve or decline credit requests within designated limits of authority.
• Manage and optimize the accounts receivable portfolio.
• Negotiate payment plans and handle debt settlements with customers.
• Prepare detailed credit reports to support decision-making processes.
• Ensure adherence to relevant regulations and legislation in credit processes.
• Train and mentor junior staff in credit assessment and management practices.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in credit management or related roles.
• Strong knowledge of credit administration principles and financial analysis.
• Proven experience with credit risk assessment and financial data interpretation.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and negotiation skills are essential.
• Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion and integrity.
• Proficiency in credit and ERP software systems to streamline processes.
