CNC Operator (225-904)

A CNC (Computer Numerical Control) Operator plays a critical role in the manufacturing process by managing and operating CNC machinery to create precision components and tools. This position involves working with computer-controlled equipment that executes a series of commands to fabricate intricate and detailed components with high precision. CNC Operators must have a keen eye for detail, the ability to understand complex instructions, and a deep understanding of mechanics and mathematics. They are responsible for setting up the machine, monitoring its operations, and conducting quality checks throughout the production process to ensure that the parts produced meet the desired specifications and quality standards. In addition to technical skills, CNC Operators need to adhere to all safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machinery and upload required files for the manufacturing process.
• Interpret mechanical drawings and specifications to program CNC machines accurately.
• Monitor the production process and make adjustments to ensure optimal efficiency.
• Conduct routine maintenance on CNC machines to ensure their longevity and performance.

• Troubleshoot any issues that arise during the manufacturing process promptly.
• Ensure all products are produced within the specified tolerances and dimensions.
• Adhere to all safety regulations and maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Practice continuous improvement techniques to enhance production efficiency and quality.
• Train and assist new team members in CNC operational procedures and best practices.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certificate preferred.
• Proven experience as a CNC Operator or similar role in manufacturing.
• Strong understanding of CAD/CAM technology and mechanical drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and mechanical drawings.
• Proficiency in programming CNC machines with G-code and other relevant languages.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machinery issues.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
• Good physical condition, as the role may require standing for long periods.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including overtime and shift work as needed.
