Job Description

We are seeking a meticulous and strategic Buyer specializing in spare parts to join our dynamic procurement team. In this role, you will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing spare parts essential for the maintenance and repair of our equipment and machinery. The ideal candidate will possess a keen understanding of supply chain management, vendor relations, and cost analysis, as well as have a proactive approach to problem-solving and strong negotiation skills. As a Buyer, you will work closely with other departments to ensure the smooth operation of equipment by maintaining a steady supply of parts, ensuring quality standards are met, and optimizing cost savings. This position offers the opportunity to manage a critical aspect of operational efficiency, making an impact on the overall performance of the business.


Responsibilities

  • Identify and evaluate new suppliers and maintain relationships with existing vendors.
  • Negotiate prices, terms, and conditions with suppliers to secure the best deals.
  • Create and maintain a purchasing strategy tailored to company needs and industry trends.
  • Place orders for spare parts and track delivery timelines to ensure timely arrival.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent shortages and overstock situations.
  • Conduct market research to stay updated on new trends, products, and pricing models.
  • Collaborate with the maintenance department to forecast demand for spare parts accurately.
  • Develop cost-saving initiatives without compromising on quality or service levels.
  • Assess and mitigate risks associated with the supply chain and vendor reliability.
  • Prepare and analyze purchasing reports to inform decision-making and strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations when purchasing goods.
  • Coordinate with the finance department to ensure accurate and timely payment processing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in purchasing, specifically in spare parts procurement.
  • Strong negotiation skills and experience in vendor relationship management.
  • Proficiency in using purchasing software and inventory management systems.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to conduct market research and cost analysis.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for cross-departmental collaboration.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to adapt to changing business needs and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with logistics and supply chain processes and regulations.
