Job Description

As an Assistant Store Manager in the retail sector, you will play a key role in supporting the Store Manager with daily operations and supervision of staff members. Your responsibilities will include assisting in managing inventory, merchandising products, ensuring excellent customer service, and achieving sales targets. You will also be involved in creating staff schedules, training new employees, and implementing store policies and procedures. Strong communication and leadership skills are essential in this role to effectively motivate and guide the team towards success. The ideal candidate will have a background in retail management, a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities

  • Assist the Store Manager in all aspects of managing the store, including ordering, receiving, and maintaining inventory.
  • Supervise and train store staff to ensure excellent customer service and adherence to company policies.
  • Drive sales performance and meet sales goals through effective merchandising and promotion strategies.
  • Monitor and analyze sales and inventory reports to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure store cleanliness, organization, and safety standards are maintained at all times.
  • Handle customer inquiries, complaints, and escalated issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with the Store Manager to create and implement operational procedures and policies.
  • Assist with scheduling and managing employee work hours to ensure sufficient staffing levels.
  • Participate in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of new team members.
  • Support store operational tasks, such as opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and security protocols.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required, bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous retail experience in a leadership role preferred.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in basic computer skills and familiarity with point of sale systems.
  • Ability to lead and motivate a team to achieve sales goals.
