The Assistant Front Office Manager plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of a hotel’s front desk, the focal point for guest interactions. This position supports the Front Office Manager in leading the team to deliver outstanding guest service, adhere to hotel policies, and maximize room occupancy. The successful candidate will possess exceptional communication skills, demonstrate leadership abilities, and have a keen eye for detail. They will be responsible for managing staff, handling guest inquiries and complaints, and ensuring a memorable guest experience. Responsibilities

  • Assist in managing daily operations at the front desk to ensure smooth functioning.
  • Train, mentor, and supervise front office staff to maintain high service standards.
  • Ensure the front desk provides an approachable and welcoming environment for guests.
  • Handle guest complaints and inquiries professionally and efficiently at all times.
  • Coordinate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to maintain high room standards.
  • Oversee the allocation of rooms and manage booking discrepancies effectively.
  • Monitor and ensure proper cash handling and billing procedures are followed.
  • Prepare and analyze daily reports to support management in decision-making.
  • Implement strategies to maximize occupancy and revenue generation from room bookings.
  • Work closely with the Front Office Manager in policy development and staff evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hotel security regulations at all times.
  • Assist in managing reservations systems and optimizing operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in a supervisory or managerial front office role within a hotel.
  • Strong proficiency in hotel management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a customer-focused attitude.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve problems and resolve guest issues promptly and effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Hospitality Management or a related field is preferred.
