Duties And Responsibilities
Purpose
To execute and supervise all fabrication maintenance activities including minor project in Upper Zakum Field. Implement pre and final hook ups & conversion of well of WHPT’s, Facility changes, PSIM, RIE reports & execute and supervise timely intervention in events of loss of containment of pressure system leaks. To supervise various project executed by ADNOC Head Quarter as Site Job Officer. All fabrication activities top surface facilities in UZ field.
Key Accountabilities
Responsible for planning & implementing all maintenance hot work activities in Zakum & hook up activity in WHPT as per rig chart.
To fix the priority of jobs based on its criticality/ safety and deploy suitable workforce. Utilize awarded budget for materials, workforce and Services provided from HQ. To evaluate and decide the supplier of material based on technical evaluation.
Ensure that all Fabrication / Welding / Installation activities are c within accordance with the company standing instructions and international standards.
To review and study the Engineering package from ADNOC HQ, provides comments for implementation methodology in accordance with company procedure, material compatibility / specification and workforce requirements.
Technical Qualification / evaluation of supplier’s bid provided by commercial section to be carried out in accordance with material specification.
To execute and supervise minor projects at site in consult with ADNOC Head quarter Job officer as per the scope of work in an effective manner.
To raise service request for any supports required from the Head Quarter through the system and follow up the progress and ensure that requested works delivered as specified.
To ensure all fabrication and machining equipment and tools are maintained as per schedule and safe for use.
To organize the planned shutdown activities by arranging the tools and materials in advance to accomplish shut down activities in an effective manner.
To conduct the permit audit, tool & equipment audit and HSE observation.
Annually conduct welder’s qualification test for welders in consult with the Inspection Engineer.
To educate and train UAE National developees.
To have thorough knowledge about the fabrication principle, materials & fittings of pressure vessels, Tanks, plant piping, hot tapping and structural as complied with the international standard such as ASME, API, BS & AWS…etc. is essential.
To have good knowledge about Central lathe, Milling and Drilling equipment and experience of precision measurement tools such as Vernier Callipers, Inside and Outside Micrometre, Bore gauges, dip gauges…etc.
To understand and apply Materials Maintenance Management System (Maximo) for material take off from in house stores and outsourcing materials by preparing Purchase requisition.
To have clear knowledge about different types of steel and alloy material and its utilization based on plant process piping.
To motivate the team to build up the safety consciousness and encourage them by conducting TBT and to write HSE observation report for any anomaly.
To maintain the inventory records of all material, tools, and equipment for monitoring, updating and replenish the items as and when required.
Keep the records of contractor employees related to their personal, HSE and periodical and mandatory training.
Generic Accountabilities
Supervision
Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
Lead and mange a group of welders, fabricators & machinist to meet the site fabrication maintenance requirement on process piping, structural & WHPT pre and final hook up works.
Ensure that works are executed in safe manner and strictly adheres to company HSEMS system and procedures along with good housekeeping practices.
Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.
Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures
Consult with planning and other trade counterparts for fabrication related work requested and to accomplish the works in an effective manner as planned, including carrying out the unplanned day to day works.
To execute, monitoring and control of work packages and fabrication activities for all primary, secondary, and tertiary structural elements throughout all UZ Oil Field installations in line with site responsibilities towards AIMS and SIMS. Work is extended to all steel work related to equipment within process, utility, and accommodation plants.
Study and understand the piping isometric, plant lay out, P & ID, plant plot plan drawing and prepare other necessary sketches or isometric drawing to conduct fabrication, repair, and modification of several types of plant piping and structures in accordance with Company procedures, standards, codes, and practices.
To Conduct the site survey based on job requirement and in conjunction with other sections to complete the work in effective manner. Follow up with Commercial section to issue the requisition materials to site in time as specified and in consult with different sections within field and ADNOC head quarter to sort out any issues related plant fabrication and project works.
Review Welding Procedure Specification for new job, conduct the test in accordance with company procedure or international standard.
Performance Management
Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance Objectives for the Department / Section in line with the Company Performance framework.
Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability
Comply with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.
Participate in Emergency Response duties as a team member.
To organize / conduct the Job Safe Analysis and risk assessment with others trades for critical nature jobs.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor Degree [Mechanical Engineering] or equivalent.
Minimum Experience & Knowledge & Skills
10 years’ experience in Fabrication / Welding field of which at least 5 years’ experience as Supervisor level in oil related / petrochemical industries
Professional Certifications
American Welding Society (AWS) – Welding inspector course or equivalent.
Computer knowledge in using MS Office applications.
Technical Competencies
Responsible for planning, implementing, managing, and monitoring all major department activities line to the Maintenance management system.
Works in accordance with established procedures and specialized technical standards.
Understand and interpret the related codes and standards such as ASME 31.3, 16.5, Sec V, VIII & IX, AWS D1.1, API 510 & 570 & etc.
Familiar with the use of computerized maintenance management systems such as Maximo.
