Job Description

The Vendor Relationship Specialist plays a pivotal role in establishing and nurturing relationships with vendors to ensure optimal service delivery and cost-effectiveness. This position requires a strategic thinker who can balance company goals with vendor capabilities. The candidate will be responsible for negotiating contracts, monitoring service delivery, and collaborating with internal departments to align vendor strategies with business objectives. In addition, the role involves evaluating vendor performance and making informed recommendations to enhance partnerships. Exhibiting strong communication skills, the specialist will function as the primary point of contact for vendors, aiming to maintain productive and long-standing relationships. The Vendor Relationship Specialist will also be tasked with resolving any vendor issues promptly and fostering growth opportunities for the company through effective vendor collaborations.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular performance and strategy reviews with key vendors.
  • Identify vendor capabilities that align with company objectives.
  • Negotiate terms and conditions to secure favorable vendor agreements.
  • Maintain detailed records of vendor agreements and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to address vendor-related issues efficiently.
  • Develop vendor evaluation programs to assess performance accurately.
  • Act as a mediator in conflict resolution between vendors and departments.
  • Provide feedback and recommendations for improvements to both parties.
  • Stay informed of market trends that impact vendor relations.
  • Implement risk management strategies regarding vendor dependencies.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or related field required.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in vendor management role.
  • Exceptional negotiation skills with proven success in agreements.
  • Strong analytical skills to evaluate and improve vendor relationships.
  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal essential.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and vendor management systems.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams effectively.
