Job Description

The Senior Merchandising Officer plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between product conception and market distribution, ensuring that the product offerings align with market trends and consumer demands. This role involves strategically planning and managing merchandise flow, optimizing product assortments, and collaborating with various teams to increase sales and enhance brand presence.   • Monitor competitors' merchandising strategies to stay ahead in the marketplace.
  • Forecast sales trends and propose adjustments to inventory plans accordingly.
  • Negotiate terms with vendors to secure optimal pricing and quality products.
  • Lead a team of merchandising professionals to achieve departmental objectives.
  • Review and approve product assortments and ensure they meet customer demands.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for senior management outlining merchandising strategies.
  • Ensure visual merchandising aligns with brand image and enhances customer experience.


Requirements

  • A bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required.
  • Minimum of five years of experience in merchandising or buying roles.
  • Proven track record of driving sales growth and product profitability.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools and software.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and experience working with diverse suppliers.
  • Exceptional leadership abilities to manage and motivate a merchandising team.
  • In-depth knowledge of retail and ecommerce landscape, including market trends.
