Job Description

The Supply Chain Manager plays a pivotal role in ensuring that an organization's supply chain functions efficiently and effectively. This position requires a strategic thinker who can manage multiple moving parts, from sourcing and procurement to logistics and transportation. The Supply Chain Manager will work closely with various departments to ensure that products are delivered on time, costs are kept under control, and inventory levels are maintained at optimal levels. This role involves analyzing data to improve processes and systems, negotiating with suppliers, and coordinating with production and sales teams to meet customer demand. Attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a strong ability to manage and lead a team are critical for success in this position.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize supply chain processes and performance.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers, negotiating terms and prices for best results.
  • Collaborate with other departments to forecast demand and ensure timely supply of products.
  • Monitor and analyze key performance indicators to drive process improvements.
  • Maintain efficient systems for inventory management and control to prevent shortages.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and internal policies in the supply chain.
  • Oversee the logistics and transportation function to ensure timely product delivery.
  • Identify areas of improvement and implement lean management practices in operations.
  • Lead and mentor the supply chain team to achieve departmental objectives and goals.
  • Prepare reports and present findings and developments to senior management.
  • Coordinate emergency response and resolve critical supply chain issues as they arise.
  • Continuously assess and mitigate risks within the supply chain framework.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • At least five years of experience in supply chain management roles preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to handle complex data sets.
  • Excellent negotiation skills and experience managing supplier relationships.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate teams effectively.
  • Solid understanding of current supply chain technologies and practices.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, across diverse teams.
