Job Description

The Shop Operations Assistant plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of a retail establishment. They support the daily operations of the shop and contribute to a positive shopping experience for customers. This dynamic position requires both administrative and customer service skills, as the Shop Operations Assistant acts as a bridge between customers, staff, and management. Tasked with various responsibilities ranging from inventory management to maintaining store cleanliness, this role requires attention to detail, organizational abilities, and excellent communication skills. Successful candidates will possess a proactive approach to problem-solving and a passion for maintaining high standards in the retail environment.


Responsibilities

  • Assist in the daily opening and closing procedures of the retail shop.
  • Monitor inventory levels and place orders to ensure appropriate stock availability.
  • Resolve customer inquiries and complaints in a professional and timely manner.
  • Participate in merchandising and display setup to enhance store aesthetics.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the shop to ensure a welcoming environment.
  • Process transactions accurately and handle cash in accordance with company policies.
  • Support shop management in planning and executing promotional events and sales.
  • Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of goods.
  • Maintain and organize shop documentation, including sales reports and invoices.
  • Assist in training new staff members and help foster a collaborative team environment.
  • Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to within the shop premises.
  • Contribute to achieving sales targets by promoting products and services proactively.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in retail or customer service, preferably in a shop setting.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with customers and staff.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
  • Proficiency in using point-of-sale (POS) systems and basic computer applications.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle stressful situations calmly and efficiently.
  • A positive attitude and a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
