Job Description

A Registered Nurse (RN) plays a critical role in the healthcare sector, providing essential support and care to patients across various environments, including hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, and private practices. As an RN, you'll be responsible for assessing patient health problems and needs, developing and implementing nursing care plans, and maintaining accurate medical records. Your role is vital not only in providing direct patient care but also in educating patients and their families about health conditions and preventative care. In fulfilling these duties, you'll collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to patient wellness. This position requires not only medical knowledge and skills but also compassion, patience, and excellent communication abilities to effectively support patients through their health journeys.


Responsibilities

  • Assess patient health problems and needs to develop nursing care plans.
  • Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders.
  • Monitor, record, and report symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
  • Maintain accurate, detailed reports and patient medical records.
  • Perform routine procedures such as checking vital signs and administering injections.
  • Coordinate with healthcare professionals to plan, implement, or evaluate patient care plans.
  • Educate patients and family members about patient conditions and treatment plans.
  • Ensure the health and safety of patients by maintaining a clean and safe environment.
  • Assist in the evaluation, development, and improvement of nursing practices and policies.
  • Supervise nursing assistants and support staff as necessary.
  • Participate in the training and development of new nurses and healthcare staff.
  • Provide compassionate and empathetic care to support the mental and emotional wellbeing of patients.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or an associate degree in nursing (ADN).
  • Current state licensure as a registered nurse (RN) is mandatory.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years' nursing experience in a clinical setting preferred.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with patients and families.
  • Capability to work collaboratively in fast-paced and sometimes high-stress environments.
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and ability to make quick decisions in critical situations.
  • Availability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays if required.
