Job Description

The Senior Merchandising Officer - Electronics is a critical role within our organization, focusing on optimizing product assortment and driving sales for our electronics category. This position demands an individual with a deep understanding of retail merchandising, exceptional analytical skills, and a passion for technology products. You will be responsible for developing strategic merchandising plans, collaborating closely with buyers and suppliers, and ensuring that our product offerings meet market trends and customer demands. You will play a pivotal role in negotiating pricing, optimizing inventory levels, and executing promotional strategies. The ideal candidate will possess excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to leverage data to make informed decisions affecting the category's performance in the competitive electronics market.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic merchandising plans for the electronics category.
  • Collaborate with buyers and suppliers to negotiate favorable terms and conditions.
  • Analyze market trends to optimize product assortment and pricing strategies.
  • Monitor inventory levels to prevent stockouts and overstock situations.
  • Coordinate with marketing teams to design promotional campaigns and strategies.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of merchandising plans through sales and profit analysis.
  • Liaise with supply chain teams to ensure timely availability of products.
  • Maintain knowledge of the latest technological advancements in the electronics field.
  • Prepare and present sales reports and recommendations to senior management.
  • Identify opportunities for product line expansion to enhance customer offerings.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations in all merchandising activities.
  • Train and mentor junior merchandising staff to develop their skills and capabilities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in merchandising or retail management.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets.
  • Proven track record of successful negotiation with suppliers and partners.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective collaboration.
  • Proficient in using merchandising software and tools to enhance productivity.
  • Solid understanding of current market trends and consumer electronics technology.
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
