Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Safety Officer to join our team and ensure the highest standards of health and safety in our workplace. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety guidelines that adhere to legal standards and foster a safe working environment. As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in assessing risks, promoting a culture of safety, and ensuring that every team member is aware of and adheres to safety protocols. Your expertise will guide and advise our staff on how to minimize hazards and prevent injuries, contributing to the health and well-being of all employees. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement comprehensive safety policies and procedures across the organization.
  • Regularly inspect premises and the work of personnel to identify issues or non-conformity.
  • Oversee and enforce adherence to all health and safety regulations in the workplace.
  • Conduct risk assessment and enforce preventative measures to avert accidents and hazards.
  • Review existing policies and measures and update according to legislation and industry standards.
  • Organize and conduct safety training programs to educate employees on all safety practices.
  • Investigate incidents and injuries to determine their cause and take necessary action.
  • Compile statistical data and prepare reports to evaluate the safety performance.
  • Coordinate with external safety parties including safety officials and health inspectors.
  • Monitor compliance with safety standards, including personal protective equipment usage.
  • Keep abreast of and understand new developments in health and safety legislation.
  • Act as a point of contact for any employee concerning safety, health, and environment issues.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Safety Officer or similar role in compliance.
  • In-depth understanding of legal health and safety guidelines and practices.
  • Excellent knowledge of potentially hazardous materials and practices in various industries.
  • Able to conduct data analysis and develop statistical reports for safety evaluations.
  • Outstanding organizational skills with great attention to detail for auditing and monitoring.
  • Effective communication skills for training sessions and policy explanations to staff.
  • Certification in occupational health and safety is preferred, such as OSHA or NEBOSH.
