Responsibilities

• Identifying patients and verifying their identities and medical records.
• Explaining the blood collection process to patients and addressing any concerns or questions.
• Selecting appropriate blood collection equipment, such as needles, tubes, and syringes.
• Sterilizing the skin puncture site and preparing it for blood collection.
• Drawing blood from patients' veins, capillaries, or arteries.
• Ensuring accurate labeling and documentation of blood samples.
• Properly handling and storing collected blood samples to maintain their integrity.
• Collaborating with laboratory staff to transport and deliver samples for testing.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited phlebotomy training program.
• Knowledge of venipuncture techniques and infection control protocols.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure.
