Optometrist

The Optometrist is responsible for conducting comprehensive eye exams, diagnosing vision problems, and prescribing corrective lenses or treatments. This role involves educating patients about eye health, detecting ocular diseases, and working closely with other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal vision care. The ideal candidate should have strong clinical skills, attention to detail, and a passion for improving patients' visual well-being.

Responsibilities:

• Perform vision tests and analyze results to diagnose visual impairments.

• Prescribe corrective lenses, contact lenses, and other visual aids.

• Detect and diagnose eye diseases such as glaucoma, cataracts, and retinal disorders.

• Provide pre- and post-operative care for patients undergoing eye surgeries.

• Educate patients on eye care, preventive measures, and lifestyle adjustments.

• Maintain detailed patient records and update medical histories.

• Collaborate with ophthalmologists and other medical professionals when necessary.

• Recommend appropriate treatment plans, including vision therapy if needed.

• Operate and maintain specialized optometric equipment.

• Stay updated with advancements in optometry practices and technology.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Doctor of Optometry (OD) degree from an accredited institution.

• Valid optometry license in the UAE.

• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in clinical or retail optometry settings.

• Strong knowledge of optometric instruments and diagnostic tools.

• Excellent communication and patient care skills.

• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving abilities.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, if required.

• Fluency in English; Arabic proficiency is a plus.
