Job Description

An Infection Control and Prevention Manager plays a pivotal role in maintaining a safe and healthy environment in healthcare settings by preventing, identifying, and controlling infectious diseases. This role requires a deep understanding of infectious disease protocols, sterilization processes, and outbreak management. The manager works closely with healthcare staff to establish and implement effective infection prevention strategies and ensures compliance with regulatory standards and guidelines. They conduct regular risk assessments, lead training programs for staff, and oversee the infection control program. The manager must exhibit strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities to ensure the facility operates under the highest standards of infection control. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, the manager is committed to protecting both patients and healthcare workers by mitigating infection risks and promoting a culture of safety and hygiene within the facility.


Responsibilities

  • Develop infection control and prevention policies in line with regulations.
  • Lead audits and inspections to ensure compliance with sanitation standards.
  • Monitor and analyze infection trends to mitigate potential outbreaks.
  • Conduct training programs on infection prevention for healthcare staff.
  • Collaborate with clinical teams to implement infection control procedures effectively.
  • Ensure proper sterilization processes are consistently followed and documented.
  • Oversee investigations of healthcare-associated infections promptly and thoroughly.
  • Report findings related to infection control to senior management accurately.
  • Coordinate with external agencies during infectious disease outbreaks effectively.
  • Review and update infection prevention protocols to incorporate new best practices.
  • Implement technological solutions that enhance infection control measures efficiently.
  • Facilitate meetings focused on improving infection control practice among departments.


Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Epidemiology, or related healthcare field.
  • Minimum of three years experience in an infection control role.
  • Strong knowledge of infection control standards and healthcare regulations.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills to identify infection risks.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to educate staff effectively.
