Job Description

An MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing) Project Manager is a crucial role within the construction and facility management industries. This professional oversees the intricate planning, design, and execution of MEP systems within construction projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget. The MEP Project Manager coordinates between architects, engineers, contractors, and clients to ensure that all MEP installations align with the project specifications, safety standards, and regulatory requirements. By leveraging expert technical knowledge and strong leadership skills, the MEP Project Manager drives projects to success while managing risks and maintaining high-quality standards. This role requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to adapt to the dynamic nature of construction projects.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate the planning, design, and installation of MEP systems in construction projects.
  • Ensure that MEP work complies with contractual obligations and regulatory standards.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate MEP systems seamlessly.
  • Develop detailed project plans including schedules, budgets, and resource allocations.
  • Monitor project progress, identifying and mitigating any potential risks or delays promptly.
  • Manage procurement processes and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Conduct site inspections regularly to ensure adherence to design specifications and quality standards.
  • Prepare and present regular project updates to stakeholders and clients as required.
  • Resolve any technical issues or conflicts encountered by on-site project teams swiftly.
  • Implement and maintain effective communication channels among team members and stakeholders.
  • Ensure health and safety protocols are rigorously followed at all phases of the project.
  • Evaluate and report on completed projects to identify lessons and areas for improvement.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil Engineering or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in MEP project management within construction.
  • Comprehensive understanding of MEP systems, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and motivate large teams effectively.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail in complex project environments.
  • Proficient in project management software and other relevant engineering tools.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective stakeholder engagement.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent preferred.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and capability to handle unexpected challenges adeptly.
