Job Description

The role of a Logistic Officer is integral to the efficient and effective operation of a company’s supply chain and logistics activities. As a Logistic Officer, you will be responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and managing goods and resources from the point of origin to consumption. Your primary goal will be to ensure that products are delivered to the right location, on time, and at the best possible cost. This position requires a strategic and analytical mindset, excellent organizational skills, and an aptitude for problem-solving. Working closely with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers, you will be pivotal in streamlining logistical operations to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction. Your contribution will be crucial in maintaining the seamless movement of goods and ensuring the company's logistical processes are compliant with all relevant laws and regulations.


Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and oversee logistics operations to ensure efficient transportation of goods.
  • Manage inventory levels and forecast demand to prevent product shortages.
  • Negotiate with suppliers and logistics service providers to ensure cost-effective operations.
  • Develop and implement logistics plans, policies, and procedures for optimal efficiency.
  • Monitor and evaluate the performance of current logistics strategies and take corrective measures.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and international standards in logistics operations.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate reports on logistics performance metrics and KPIs.
  • Facilitate continuous improvement initiatives in inventory and supply chain management.
  • Utilize logistics software to streamline operations and manage supply chain processes.
  • Resolve any issues related to shipping, receiving, and storage of goods in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align logistics functions with business objectives.
  • Provide training and guidance to logistics staff to enhance their skills and efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience working in logistics, supply chain, or transportation sectors.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret logistics data and drive strategy decisions.
  • Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills to manage supplier relationships effectively.
  • Proficiency in logistics software and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Ability to work under pressure with a keen sense of urgency and problem-solving ability.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing logistical operations.
